Our little Henry Owen turned four last week. It doesn't seem all that long ago that he was as tiny as one of Emma's dolls and now he's playing with Transformers, recognizes "Dark Vader" and loves running with a football.
There are also some shots of Cora doing her cute baby thing in this set of photos. She is still a tiny thing, even after gaining a pound and a half and gaining two inches since she came home.
The house was mobbed by cute girls and the air was thick with giggles and dancing. Emma's 6th birthday party was a princess party, a departure from past non-girlie themes which have included NASCAR and ducks.

Henry turned three in December and put a check mark next to one of the required rites of passage for children: getting a first bicycle. We gave it to him on his actual birthday and let him tool around for a bit ahead of his party on the weekend.
Last year Emma had a race car party because, you know, every sweet four year-old girl loves cars, right? This year she opted for more traditional girly-fare and had a princess party. So, on the day of the grand event, several dozen kids arrived fully decked out in various princess outfits.

My father happened to be in town for my birthday this year so the whole clan went out for a fancy fondue dinner at the new Melting Pot in San Clemente. The kids behaved well and really enjoyed themselves... even more so when the chocolate fondue came out for desert!
Today is Emma's fifth birthday. She started celebrating yesterday with a trip to Disneyland for some face painting. A new bicycle and a dinner out with her friend Alicia capped off the day today.
It doesn't seem like that long ago that we brought Henry home from the hospital, premature and frighteningly small. Today he turns two and is a happy and well-rounded child. Happy birthday, my boy!
The unquestioned hit of this birthday party was the cotton candy. All of the kids gorged themselves on the brightly-colored treat. Afterward, their veins coursing with sugar, the children burned themselves out on the playground.
