Time for Thanksgiving

Time for Thanksgiving
We stayed home this year for Thanksgiving. It was a bit smaller than I'm used to from childhood (no "kids table" filled with cousins) but it was nice not having to travel. Our menu was excellent, as usual.
You Say It's Your Birthday?
The house was mobbed by cute girls and the air was thick with giggles and dancing. Emma's 6th birthday party was a princess party, a departure from past non-girlie themes which have included NASCAR and ducks.
And That Was Halloween
Halloween yesterday was interesting. I said in last year's Halloween write-up that both kids were aware and anticipating the holiday. Oh, how wrong I was. Last year was merely some excitement about it. This year was full-blown, wiggle-inducing anticipation.
Robin Preiss Glasser and Fancy Nancy
One of Emma's favorite books lately is Fancy Nancy. The illustrator, Robin Preiss Glasser, was at A Whale of A Tale recently to read from the new Nancy book. We couldn't pass this up and attended the signing in full fancy regalia.

Prince Henry Attacks

Prince Henry Attacks
Emma and Henry have been playing a lot of dress-up lately, with Henry assuming more princely attire. In this little set of photos Henry brandished a sword, swearing to destroy any foe.
Fear My Cardboard Claws
Much like Bruce Banner turning into The Incredible Hulk, Henry transformed himself into a frightening robot monster of doom the other night. His poor victim, The Red Balloon, was helpless to defend itself in the face of such terrific might.

Prince and Princess

Prince and Princess
Emma and Henry have been playing a lot of dress-up lately using some costumes we inherited from cousin Maggie Smith. With Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella to choose from, who could ask for anything more?

Catch-up #1

Catch-up #1
Oh. My. I'm ashamed to admit what month these are from. I'll let you guess. There are some great shots of Emma and Henry playing in the pumpkin patch, petting animals at a petting zoo, a busted lip and driving trains on Granpa Northcutt's head.

Halloween 2006

Halloween 2006
Henry was fully aware of Halloween this year and participated with gusto! Henry insisted on carrying his "crumpkin" around by himself. By the end of the night it looked like the crumpkin was hauling him around.
Playdate Pups Halloween Party
The Playdate Pups, Emma and Henry's playgroup, had their annual Halloween party once again this year. This year both children and parents dressed for the occasion, with costumes ranging from elegant geisha to the, uh, less-than-elegant clown.
Emma's First Halloween
Emma's first Halloween! How exciting! We didn't go too crazy with the costume. Just some cute pants and little cat ears. She seemed thrilled, don't you think?...
